Litigation Enforcement Proceedings

Weiner Brodsky Sidman Kider, PC

Not all litigation happens in the courtroom. In the heavily regulated Financial Services and Transportation industries, our clients frequently face inquiries from state and federal agencies.  We put our industry knowledge and experience to work for our clients in deciding how to best respond to the regulators’ questions.

Weiner Brodsky Sidman Kider PC regularly assists clients with issues ranging from state licensing questions to investigations by HUD, its Mortgagee Review Board, and its Inspector General.  We also frequently appear before state regulators to respond to allegations of non-compliance and for license suspension and revocation hearings.

We also represent clients in proceedings by the OTS, OCC, Federal Reserve and Federal Trade Commission. We also have aided clients responding to investigations by the Department of Justice and various state attorneys generals.

In recent administrative proceedings we:

  • successfully challenged a HUD rule that bans privately funded down payment programs from FHA loans;
  • negotiated the settlement of the largest enforcement action in FHA history;
  • negotiated major settlements with HUD on title reinsurance matters.
